"Big Beings in Biddy Bodies" Kid's Workshop

"Big Beings in Biddy Bodies" is back for December during the Holiday break. After the excitement of Christmas and all the presents wears off a bit and your little ones are looking for something to DO, why not bring them to the workshop for some time away for BLISS/fun and enjoy a bit of quiet for yourselves. As always, our time together will be filled with sharing, Yoga, Art, Dance, Meditation and lots of creating. We continue to receive amazing feedback from this workshop. Things like "I wouldn't miss it for the world" and "I love it because we can share our feelings" are comments I heard from our last day together. Many kids missed last time due to scheduling conflicts. We look forward to having a room full of Bright Lights this month at our new, larger location.
Wednesday, December 29, 2010 from 2:00-4:30 p.m. $25.00 per child, $20 for 2nd and $15 for 3rd child in same family.

upcoming workshops that you don't want to miss
12-1:30pm Sunday Restorative Workshop w/ Heidi ($15)
The restful yoga postures of Restorative Yoga are supported by several props, such as bolsters, pillows and blankets. These poses are held longer than in other yoga classes to enhance the release of tension related to stress, muscular tightness, or any other factors that leave one feeling imbalanced. Benefits include soothing the nervous system, nourishing muscles and organs, and mental clarity. No prior yoga experience necessary. This class is a must for those who need to unwind from busy lives and reconnect with the body.
2-3:30pm Holiday Detox Workshop w/ Melita ($15)
The holidays are a time for connecting and expressing gratitude. Often times that also includes overindulging and feeling sluggish. This class will invoke the fire (agni) heat in an invigorating flow designed to melt away the stress and tension of the hectic holiday season while ridding the body and the mind of impurities. Be prepared to move and sweat in an energetically firm, even and consistent flow where we will open up the hips, strengthen the arms and core. Come ready to sweat, detox, and let go of what no longer serves you!
saturday, december 11:
11am-1pm Ashtanga Practice w/ Mary Jo ($20)
We'll briefly discuss the 5 elements of practice; then run through our practice adding in most of the poses and vinyasa from the standing and primary series. These are experienced only classes so as not to disrupt the flow with individual posture instruction. To make this practice accessible and enjoyable, any posture modifications or variations are highly encouraged. "Each practice session is a journey. Allow it to unfold as a flower opens, there is no benefit in hurrying." David Swenson, author of "Ashtanga Yoga: The Practice Manual." We practice his inclusive, non-competitive, joyful form of Ashtanga Yoga.
sunday, december 12:
12-2pm Meditation & Pranayama Workshop w/ Nabin ($20)
"Healing Mental and Emotional Tiredness" Meditation, breathing practices and deep relaxation are preventative and healing yogic practices to keep us balanced, healthy, and energized through the holidays and winter weather. The workshop will include yogic exercises to warm up the body, yoga nidra (deep relaxation), Pranayama practices (breath work), and Mindfulness Meditation. All levels welcome.

Practitioners will have the chance to receive and clients will have the opportunity to enjoy different flavors of Reiki as the energy may feel different depending on the one giving. We will talk about what Reiki is and how it feels within our life, its benefits, and how Reiki can be expanded to encompass an individual form of healing.
