  • Details about events:

Beginner Tai Chi: You have probably heard about it, seen movies that show people flocking to parks and open spaces practicing this ancient art, you probably saw the awesome display of it during the Beijing Olympics. And you can learn it and experience the positive benefits in our little corner of the world. Contact kungfugenius0@gmail.com to sign up and for details.

Intermediate Tai Chi: For participants who have taken a level 1 class from Joe or practiced in other settings. Contact kungfugenius0@gmail.com to sign up and for details.

Yoga Sampler: Breathe In, Breathe Out, repeat. Easy right? Sometimes so easy that we often forget we're doing it. Reclaim your awareness to the breath and tap into your inner stillness with a Yoga Sampler focused on Pranayama (breathing practices) and Meditation. Heidi Sherwin, RYT will guide students through a variety of breathing and meditation practices that will be easy to adopt into a home practice, such as alternate nostril breathing, diaphragmatic breathing,
breath of joy, and mountain and chakra meditations. Pranayama and meditation have scientifically been proven to reduce stress, lower blood pressure, enhance the immune system, and be uplifting to mood and spirit. The class will end with an exploration of Yoga Nidra, or yogic sleep.

Runic Yoga: From the Asatru Celtic/Norse Tradition, Runic Yoga utilizes Postures based on the Rune Stave configurations and the Vibration of Runic Names to engender various changes in consciousness. Students will learn the Basic Poses and Sounds and their Various Effects. The overall aims of the stádhagaldr (Runic Yoga) are:
    • 1. Control of the body through posture (stadha)
    • 2. Control of thought through song (galdr) and vibration.
    • 3. Control of breath
    • 4. Control of emotion
    • 5. Becoming aware of the rune realms of the self and the world(s)
    • 6. Control and direction of the will.
Sunday Restoratives: Clients who have tried this class love the restful yoga postures of Restorative Yoga as they are supported by several props, such as bolsters, pillows and blankets. These poses are held longer than in other yoga classes to enhance the release of tension related to stress, muscular tightness, or any other factors that leave one feeling imbalanced. Benefits include soothing the nervous system, nourishing muscles and organs, and mental clarity. No prior yoga experience necessary. This class is a must for those who need to unwind from busy lives and reconnect with the body. Contact heidisherwin11@gmail.com to sign up and for details.

    Hope to see you there!
